Changing God's Way: Devotional and WORKBOOK

Changing God's Way By Breaking the Chains of Sin

Excerpt: "How can a man break the chains of sin?: By changing God’s way, by changing from the inside out, and by walking on His “Highway of Holiness” (Isa. 35:8). The answer to breaking the bondages of sexual sin is simple, repentance unlocks God’s sanctifying river. We must become like the “tax-gatherer” crying out “God, be merciful to me, the sinner!...The world is full of lustful feeding stations. Just think of your average day. How much of it is filled with the world’s view of sexuality? How much of that is willfully entertained by your will? Men are bombarded with fleshly images from our TVs, grocery story magazine racks, billboards, internet news, etc. The Christian man does not need to visit the local porn shop or massage parlor to feed lust. Just walking through the local grocery store a man’s visuals are bombarded with seminude women at the exit counter to lingerie ads hanging down in the isles…Victory will begin for a sexual addict when he realizes that he cannot obtain freedom on his own. This recognition allows God to work giving hope and encouragement. The battle overcoming the flesh will be a long and hard one. A person who has lived for years indulging in sexual sin will take time to recover. Sanctification in all areas will not be instantaneous but will comprise a faith road.”

Mile markers are stakes in the road that mark the distance traveled between two points. Jeremiah cried out to the people to "Set up for yourself roadmarks, Place for yourself guideposts; Direct your mind to the highway, The way by which you went.” (Jer. 31:21) Just like highway mile markers these books will record your progressive change into Christ. You will be asked to “mark” God’s change in your life after each lesson. Isaiah for told this path and life “In Christ.” He said “a highway will be there, a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness." (Isa. 35:8) These books lead to this road. Each week you will have a new mile marker to plant marking the way in which you went and the progress towards Changing God’s Way. Isaiah foretold of this road “In Christ.”

“A highway will be there, a roadway,
And it will be called the Highway of Holiness."

(Isa. 35:8)
