Seminars and Life Events

Many times a seminar or life event can lead us to Christ's refreshing water.  The Great Story assists the local church in developing the priesthood of the believer through speaking events, retreats, bible studies, men's breakfasts and other activities. God's purpose for the church is to change the mindset of the believer from that of coming with a “bib” to that of serving with an “apron.”

Did You Know...

• That in the next 12 months over 30% of the US population will experience a mental health problem. That amounts to over 90 million people in crisis and many of them will be attending the local church.

• That 85% of pastors say that their greatest problem is they are sick and tired of dealing with problem people, such as disgruntled church members, etc…

• And 90% say that the hardest thing about ministry is dealing with uncooperative people. (From: Bad News About Your Life: Maranatha Life)

Or you may be like one of many pastors who have a big heart to help, but not enough time or resources to assist those with deep spiritual struggles.

Dating Sex Marriage & Families 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 & 7
  1. Dating: God’s Perfect Choice? How can God demonstrate His choice for a perfect mate?

  2. Sex: God’s Design Today’s motto is “Sex sells!” Many youth see sex as a rite of passage into adult, rather than a cherished marriage gift.

  3. Marriage: God’s Covenant Today, the media often portrays sexual love outside God’s marriage covenant. God created and designed marriage as a life long covenant of two bodies (souls) that become one. This covenant is based upon a spousal love that always has the others interests at heart.

  4. Family: God’s Blessings God created the family structure in order to pass on His blessings. In modern Western cultures, it is widely acknowledged that the family is in serious trouble. You have heard the term "dysfunctional family"?

Changing God's Way

How can a person break the chains of sin? By changing God’s way, by changing from the inside out, and by walking on His “Highway of Holiness” (Isa. 35:8). The answer to breaking the bondages of sin is simple, repentance unlocks God’s sanctifying river. We must become like the “tax-gatherer” crying out “God, be merciful to me, the sinner!...Victory  begins for the habbitual sinner when he realizes that he cannot obtain freedom on his own. This recognition allows God to work giving hope and encouragement. The battle overcoming the flesh will be a long and hard one. A person who has lived for years indulging in sin will take time to recover. Sanctification in all areas will not be instantaneous but will comprise of a faith road in order that “the righteousness of God is (progressively) revealed from (His) faith to (our) faith” (Rom. 1:17). We only change God's way when we realize we cannot do it in our own strength.
